Azalea Robotics Raises $3.5M Seed Investment to Transform Baggage Handling with Applied Robotics Systems

Berkeley, CA – April 29, 2025 – Azalea Robotics, an autonomous robotics solution for airport baggage operations, today announced the successful closing of a $3.5 million seed funding round. This funding will support Azalea’s mission to enable streamlined and automated baggage handling through next generation advancements in applied AI, robotics technology, and computer vision software.

The investment was led by infra-tech venture capital firm Zero Infinity Partners, with participation from Vantage Futures, the corporate venture initiative of airport and transportation infrastructure leader Vantage Group, as well as Y Combinator, SOMA Capital, and strategic angel investors. The new capital accelerates Azalea Robotics’ mission to revolutionize baggage handling efficiency, alleviate labor shortages, and enhance operational precision through the application of advanced robotics systems.

The $20B aviation ground operations industry faces ongoing challenges in baggage logistics, from labor shortages to outdated, physically demanding processes that create inefficiencies, delays, and hassle for both operators and passengers. Azalea Robotics addresses these critical issues by deploying AI-driven autonomous systems that integrate seamlessly with existing airport infrastructure. Their end-to-end solution streamlines baggage movement, reduces mishandled luggage incidents, and enhances operational efficiency across baggage handling services.

“The aviation sector is under immense pressure to optimize ground operations while contending with workforce shortages and legacy infrastructure,” said David Millard, Founder and CEO of Azalea Robotics. “By integrating robotic intelligence into baggage handling and airside logistics, we enable airports and airlines to move baggage faster and more dependably, meaning fewer delays and less reliance on manual labor. ”With this investment, Azalea Robotics will accelerate product development, expand its AI and automation capabilities, and continue collaborating with key partners in airport management, airline operations, and ground handling services to optimize efficiency at scale.
